CANAWAY FLEMING ARCHITECTS
Regeneration of industrial sites provides opportunities to reinforce and support existing communities, provide new housing, employment and education opportunities. Beam Park is typical of such a site located in east London on the site of a former Ford car factory.
Working with the London Borough of Dagenham and Barking, the GLA and local housing associations, capacity and massing studies were carried out by Canaway Fleming with concept designs for a new development masterplan to provide 3,500 new homes, 2 schools, a civic centre, hotel, retail and commercial office uses and a new public transport interchange. Importantly the concept design proposes to link the Beam Valley Park to the north of the site with new wetland areas to the south connecting to the River Thames.
