CANAWAY FLEMING ARCHITECTS
Located to the south of Lords Cricket Ground (MCC) and St Johns Wood Road, Lodge Road is the site of important strategic power infrastructure to the city of London. Proposals to redevelop the site include modernizing and rationalization of the power infrastructure to release development land for new housing and urban links between St Johns Wood Road and the Regents Canal.
The development provides for 180 new modern residences 50 of which are Key Worker and Affordable Housing units. A new 25 storey building fronts St Johns Wood Road with views of Lords signifies the start of a new green travel route linking the Regents Canal and Regents Park beyond.
The development is arranged in four buildings around terraced gardens providing visual relief and contrast to the industrial nature of the existing context on Lodge Road. Canaway Fleming worked with City Investment Trusts and EDF Networks in the roll of lead consultant, providing urban design, masterplanning, feasibility studies, concept design, town planning liaison and detail design.
